Ready Chef is a second-generation family-owned Irish business supplying Fresh and Prepared vegetables, fruits and salads to all strands of the Irish Food Service Sector.

We are now looking for new talent to join us as we continue to grow, innovate and deliver. The Ready Chef warehouse is located at 112/113 Bann Road, Dublin Industrial Estate, Dublin 11.

Produce Production Manager – Ready Chef, Dublin

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Produce Production Manager – Ready Chef, Dublin, a role which will play a key part in the overall growth of the organisation along with helping to maintain our core ethos here are Sysco – keeping the customer at the heart of everything we do.

This role will be responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of all site operations including production, warehouse, dispatch, and logistics. The Production Manager ensures products are processed and dispatched efficiently, safely, and to the required quality standards while maintaining labour and cost targets. The Production Manager ensures equipment works correctly, all repairs and maintenance works are carried out according to the site maintenance plan and that the site stays audit-ready, and all departments operate in an organised, clean and compliant manner.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Oversee all areas of daily production and dispatch to ensure orders are completed on time and in full.
  • Plan daily staffing levels across departments based on volume forecasts.
  • Work closely with supervisors and team leaders to manage throughput, downtime, and changeovers.
  • Track and report key metrics such as labour hours per kg, yield %, waste %, and OEE.
  • Ensure equipment and lines are maintained and cleaned to required standards.
  • Liaise with the sales and planning teams to manage late orders, shortfalls, and customer priorities.
  • Oversee daily warehouse operations ensuring all inbound and outbound loads run smoothly.
  • Monitor picking accuracy, dispatch times, and order completion rates.
  • Ensure stock is rotated correctly (FIFO/FEFO) and warehouse space is used efficiently.
  • Maintain cold-chain compliance through all warehouse and production areas.
  • Work with transport and production to coordinate dispatch and replenishment schedules.
  • Ensure forklifts, pallet trucks, and racking systems are maintained and inspected regularly.
  • Support implementation of WMS/ERP improvements and automation initiatives to improve productivity.
  • Maintain a visible presence on the production floor to identify and resolve issues quickly.
  • Ensure compliance with BRC, HACCP, and all relevant food safety and health & safety regulations.
  • Oversee site maintenance, cleaning, waste handling, and utilities.
  • Lead and manage production teams to achieve daily output and quality targets.
  • Implement lean processes, standard operating procedures, and training plans.
  • Ensure adherence to product specifications, traceability, and HACCP controls.
  • Conduct daily meetings and annual performance reviews with all department supervisors.

Requirements:

  • Experience in fresh produce including quality related procedures and policies.
  • Experience in change management and continuous improvement.
  • Previous experience within the food industry at management level 
  • Good communication and influencing skills.
  • Ability to apply all relevant policies in a consistent, timely and objective manner.
  • Flexibility in handling multiple tasks in a fast-moving environment
  • Efficient communication and leading skills, with experience in building and developing teams.

  • Experience in food safety and quality procedures and policies.
  • Customer focussed with excellent knowledge of customer requirements.
  • Previous knowledge of operational processes has a distinct advantage.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Capable of working collaboratively with peers and colleagues from other departments daily.
