Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Airfield Systems Lead to join our team. The Airfield Systems Lead will serve as the technical authority for the engineering, integration, testing, and operational compliance of airfield and airside systems within a major airport Master Systems Integration (MSI) programme.
The position requires extensive experience in airport airside operational systems, aviation technologies, ANSP coordination, and compliance with international aviation standards and regulatory frameworks.
What You'll Be Doing:
Serves as the subject matter expert and technical lead for airfield and airside operational systems within the MSI programme.
Leads technical engineering and integration activities associated with airfield systems including A-SMGCS (OneControl), ALCMS, MLAT/WAM, ATMS, AOS, ATIS, AWOS, MET, ILS, VDGS, PBB, FHS, RTMIS, SNIB, and RVT platforms.
Provides technical leadership for CNS and airfield systems integration activities involving ATC systems, ANSP operational platforms, and airport operational technologies.
Manages technical scope definition, systems specifications, performance requirements, and systems architecture coordination activities.
Leads technical reviews of design submissions, systems engineering deliverables, shop drawings, integration methodologies, and vendor documentation.
Develops and reviews Interface Control Documents (ICDs) to ensure coordinated integration between airfield systems, ICT infrastructure, terminal systems, operational technologies, and third-party platforms.
Defines and reviews FAT, SAT, integrated systems testing, operational validation, and commissioning acceptance criteria for assigned systems.
Supports the development and execution of systems integration, testing & commissioning, and operational readiness strategies.
Coordinates with airport operators, ANSP stakeholders, ATC teams, EPC contractors, technology vendors, and specialist consultants to resolve technical interface issues and operational integration requirements.
Provides technical oversight for airfield navigation and landing systems including Glidepath, Localizer, and DME installations.
Monitors technical compliance with ICAO standards, GACA regulations, airport operational requirements, cybersecurity policies, and programme governance procedures.
Supports systems troubleshooting, technical issue resolution, and integration risk mitigation activities during implementation and operational transition phases.
Reviews contractor technical submissions, systems calculations, integration reports, testing documentation, and compliance assessments.
Supports programme controls and integration teams in monitoring technical milestones, interface dependencies, and delivery sequencing requirements.
Participates in technical workshops, design coordination meetings, systems assurance reviews, and operational readiness forums.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Systems Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Aviation Engineering, or related discipline from a recognized university.
Minimum 15 years of professional experience in aviation systems engineering, airport operational technologies, CNS systems, or complex systems integration programmes.
Minimum 6 years of experience in major international airport programmes involving airfield systems integration and operational aviation technologies.
Demonstrated experience with airport CNS systems, airfield operational technologies, and ATC/ANSP integration environments.
Strong experience in systems engineering, design review, interface management, testing & commissioning, and technical integration assurance activities.
Experience coordinating with ANSP stakeholders, ATC operations teams, airport authorities, and specialist aviation systems vendors is required.
Strong knowledge of ICAO standards, GACA regulations, and aviation operational compliance requirements.
GCC airport programme experience is highly desirable.
Must possess strong technical coordination and stakeholder communication capabilities.
