
Language Specialist - (Japanese/English/Mandarin Chinese), Prime Video Japan Localization Operations
Job Description
Key job responsibilities
- Review AI-generated localized content — including subtitles, dubbed audio, metadata, and artwork — to identify errors in translation accuracy, linguistic quality, and cultural appropriateness.
- Assist in the development and implementation of language-related technology/products to ensure consistency and quality of Japanese, Mandarin Chinese and English language services.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand language requirements and provide tailored solutions to meet their needs.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in the field of language services, particularly related to the streaming and entertainment industry.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of language processes and workflows to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization's Japanese and Mandarin Chinese language capabilities.
- Provide guidance and training to other team members on Japanese and English language-related matters, sharing your expertise and knowledge.

- Speak, write, and read fluently in Japanese
- Speak, write, and read fluently in English
- Speak, write, and read fluently in Mandarin
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and make complex investigative decisions with minimal guidance
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated expertise in delivering high-quality Japanese, Mandarin Chinese language services, including translation, interpretation, and linguistic support
- Passion for the media and entertainment industry, particularly streaming services
- Translation experience across a wide array of formats, including documents, timed text, and metadata, while preserving the original meaning, style, and tone
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make complex investigative decisions independently
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with project managers, auditors, and subject matter experts to clarify context and resolve queries
