Admissions Counselor

Wage - $29.81 per hour with opportunities for overtime and bonuses.

Working Location: Essex/Morristown area and will attend the Center once a week, starting with the first week of training at the Center.

Schedule – Full Time, 8hr shifts, Monday – Friday. Occasional nights and weekends/ may be required

What you will be doing: Responsible for conducting direct recruitment activities, and interfacing with other outreach contractors in compliance with government and management directives.

Essential functions: 

1. Conduct direct recruitment activities, including public speaking; develop linkages with referral sources such as human services agencies, recreation centers, youth organizations and churches; participate in center tours; contact potential enrollees to explore enrollment. 
2. Arrange for reception of candidates upon acceptance to the program.
3. Follow-up on student progress, e.g., length of stay and separation.
4. Prepare, schedule and provide outreach presentations in the assigned area; provide outreach presentations in support of the regional outreach efforts.
5. Maintain accountability logs of organizations contacted, individuals contacted, referrals to screening agencies and subsequent enrollments. 

Education and Experience Requirements: 

• Bachelor's degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, communications, or closely related field; or an associate’s degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, communications, or closely related field and two years related experience required. 
• Experience may include successful Job Corps outreach and admissions experience or successful outreach and admissions 
  experience with other youth development programs. 
• A Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required.
