Job Description Summary
The Safe Office On-Call Responder provides immediate after-hours response to Wake Forest University, Reynolda campus students who have been subjected to sexual harassment, assault, domestic/relationship violence or stalking. The On-Call Responder coordinates long-term and follow-up responses with the Associate Director of the Safe Office. This position requires on-call response 24 hours a day during assigned shifts. Shifts are scheduled on weekends and weekdays during the fall and spring semesters. This is a part-time position.Job Description

Essential Functions:
Remain accessible by cell phone at all times during scheduled on-call shifts to respond to incidents of sexual assault, domestic/relationship violence or stalking.
Respond promptly to all calls for assistance or questions about resources regarding sexual and domestic/relationship violence and stalking.
Provide immediate response to survivors in the event of a reported incident, following applicable University policies, guidelines, and protocols established by the Associate Director of the Safe Office. Response may include, but is not limited to, providing confidential consultation to the individual, accompanying the individual to the hospital or to meet with legal/police authorities and connecting the individual to appropriate campus and community resources.
Provide follow-up assistance and response as directed by the Associate Director of the Safe Office.
Consult with the Associate Director of the Safe Office as appropriate during and after responses.
Keeps timely, accurate, and ethical records consistent with UCC/Safe Office policy and relevant professional code(s) of ethics immediately after a response. Completes initial and ongoing training as necessary on applicable Wake Forest University protocols and procedures.
Meets monthly with the Safe Office team, or more frequently if circumstances warrant.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 20 hours of documented training in sexual assault and domestic/relationship violence response.
One to two years of experience responding to incidents of sexual and domestic/relationship violence.
Understanding of applicable privilege communication laws and the ability to manage confidential information and use sound judgment in responding to crises.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and a high degree of professionalism.
Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population, faculty, staff, administrators, parents and external agencies.
Ability to meet requirements of the University's automobile insurance.
Physical Requirements:
Operating motor vehicles in the event a survivor needs transport to a hospital for examination following assault
