Job Description

Overview The Post Oak Hotel is seeking a Director of Bars to join the only double Forbes Five-Star Hotel in Texas. We hire passionate and professional colleagues who genuinely delight our guests through curated and authentic experiences. The Director of Bars is a senior leadership role responsible for the strategic oversight, operational excellence, and financial performance of multiple bar outlets within our property. The Director of Bars will drive innovation in beverage programs, ensure unparalleled guest service, and maximize revenue opportunities. The Director of Bars will lead, mentor, and develop a team of three Bar Managers, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and exceptional hospitality. A key focus of this role is to identify and implement strategies for service recovery and revenue optimization, ensuring all service gaps are addressed efficiently to maintain profitability and guest satisfaction. Responsibilities Champion a guest-centric approach, ensuring all bar operations deliver exceptional service and memorable experiences. Lead the development, implementation, and continuous evolution of innovative and profitable beverage programs (Holiday Programming / Monthly Activation Programs), including cocktail menus, wine lists, beer selections, and non-alcoholic offerings. Responsible for achieving and exceeding revenue targets, managing budgets, and controlling costs (labor, inventory, supplies). Implement promotional activities and events to drive sales and enhance guest engagement. Analyze sales data, inventory reports, and financial statements to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement. Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor offerings, and guest preferences to ensure our beverage programs remain fresh, relevant, and competitive. Address guest feedback, concerns, and complaints promptly and effectively, turning potential issues into opportunities for positive engagement. Responsibilities include complying with all federal and state laws, including the FLSA tip regulations regarding tip reporting, sharing, and minimum wage requirements Provide strong leadership and strategic direction to the leadership teams (H Bar, The Pool, Craft F&B) and by ensuring alignment with organizational goals and standards. Oversee the daily operations of all bar outlets, ensuring consistent adherence to brand standards, operational procedures, and health and safety regulations.
