Inventory Control Coordinator

Cooksey Steel is seeking an Inventory Control Coordinator for our Tifton, GA (Oakridge) facility. Metals USA is a solid, growth oriented carbon steel distribution center servicing the commercial construction, and fabrication industries.
The Inventory Control Coordinator is responsible for executing the inventory control plan and process. The Inventory Control Coordinator will devise ways to optimize inventory control procedures ensuring the integrity and accuracy of perpetual and physical inventory. The Inventory Control Coordinator will work with Purchasing to guarantee adequate supplies.
Responsibilities:
- Initiates and executes inventory control plan and process, clarifies and exceeds production goals. Creates inventory control schedule and workflow duty assignments.
- Interacts with all departments to ensure optimal production and on-time delivery schedule.
- Strives continually to improve manpower utilization to align with production process in order to positively impact revenue.
- Conducts mini-cycle counts of physical inventory weekly, monthly and quarterly.
- Identifies drop inventory to maximize production efficiency and profitability.
- Supervises the receipt of incoming material shipments , verifying that appropriate receipt and quality control inspections are completed in a timely manner and appropriate transactions are made to complete the receiving process. Records daily deliveries, shipments and usage to reconcile inventory level.
- Reviews and research invoice statements for accuracy. Receives the physical inventory.
- Assists Sales and Purchasing with the buy-out of materials.
- Processes purchase order receipt documentation for accuracy and enters into the system.
- Investigates and resolves billing inquiries and issues, and ensures the inventory matches shipping documents for accuracy. Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities and continuing customer needs.
- Ensure that materials are stored properly, inspected and processed via accepted material handling and inventory principles. Supervises and participates in the physical inventory control process.
- Supervises staging materials to support timely delivery of material (internal transfer) and prepares shipments of items as required.
- Develops, implements and executes production tracking and quality control systems to analyze production quality control and capacity utilization. Analyzes data to anticipate future product need
- Collaborates with production leadership and other staff to ensure business goals are met.
- Strives continually to improve workplace safety awareness and achieves an injury-free work environment. Implements a world-class safety culture.
- Maintains individual knowledge/skill and experience as required to ensure optimal inventory control acumen.
- Regular and predictable attendance is required to perform the duties of an Inventory Control Specialist in the warehouse.
- Adheres to, explains and enforces all company policies and procedures paying special attention to safety regulations.
- Adheres to Reliance 's Code of Conduct as well as customer confidentiality requirements.
- Executes a safe and injury-free environment; ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies.

- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Physical Demands:
Occupation may require physical activity in the plant more than 50% of the time (> 4.0 hours per day)
- Stand, walk, sit, talk , hear, use of hands and fingers, hand-eye coordination reach outward, reach above shoulder, climb, squat or kneel or bend
- Regularly required to work on multiple concurrent tasks with constant interruptions
- Lift, carry, push and/or pull 51 -- 100 lbs. with assistance
Other Physical Requirements:
Must wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Steel-toed boots
- Hard hats with chin strap; chin strap must be worn on elevated surfaces within the shop
- Protective eyewear
- Visual Acuity requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Hearing protection if required by the hearing conservation program
Work Environment:
May be exposed to some of the following working conditions.
- Working in physical plant
- Moderate to loud noise levels
- Vibration
- Oils, dust, fumes and metallic particles
- Day shift primarily, but will be required to work all shifts as needed
