Department: Women’s Services (Labor & Delivery, Antepartum, and Mother/Baby)
Schedule: Full-Time | 40 Hours/Week | Weekday Schedule
Baylor Scott & White Health Waxahachie is seeking an experienced RN Maternal Program Manager to lead quality, education, and program initiatives across Labor & Delivery, Antepartum, and Mother/Baby services.
In this role, you will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to drive evidence-based practice, lead process improvement efforts, enhance patient safety, support staff education, and improve maternal and neonatal outcomes. The Program Manager will monitor quality metrics, identify opportunities for improvement, and champion initiatives that promote excellence throughout the continuum of maternal care.
Required Qualifications
BSN required
Current Texas RN license
Experience in Labor & Delivery and antepartum required
5 years of related experience in the field
Experience with quality improvement, performance improvement, and patient outcomes initiatives
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Labor and Delivery, Antepartum, and Mother/Baby settings
Leadership, educator, coordinator, or program management experience
Maternal health certifications preferred
Experience with maternal safety initiatives, accreditation readiness, and regulatory compliance
Experience with quality improvement, performance improvement, and clinical program development
Experience utilizing data and evidence-based practice to improve patient outcomes

Job Summary
As a Neonatal/Maternal Program Manager RN, you will supervise care for newborns and mothers. This involves overseeing patient care from admission to discharge. You play a key role in the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement program. You will assist the Medical Director with creating policies, training staff, and participating in QAPI activities. You will help with neonatal and maternal QAPI meetings regularly. Your role includes aligning program phases: investigation, planning, implementation, testing, education, support, and quality management.
Essential Functions of the Role
- You will use communication skills to motivate and guide others to achieve goals at work.
- You will update key stakeholders, like Patient Safety Councils, Chief Medical Officers, and Executive Directors, regularly.
- Your role involves working side by side with relevant departments to craft effective marketing and communication plans.
- You must keep detailed records. This includes roadmaps, timelines, meeting minutes, and training tools used in the program.
- You will oversee the daily operations of the program to ensure efficiency and productivity.
- You must make sure services are timely, accurate, effective, affordable, and follow policies and practices.
- You will set up area-specific policies and procedures that promote and advance priorities.
- You are expected to deliver timely and accurate financial, statistical, and tracking reports along with necessary interpretations.
- Your responsibilities include making sure that necessary records are created and maintained as required by regulatory policies and procedures.
- You will assist directors with budget planning, scheduling, and meeting planning.
Key Success Factors
- Understanding and knowledge of standard procedures related to nursing and patient care are crucial.
- Knowing laws, rules, regulations, and certification guidelines is necessary. Familiarity with department standards and nursing protocols is vital for relevant assignments.
- Understanding medical terms, methods, and practices for health, illness, and medication use is very useful.
- Knowledge of common medications, dosages, effects, and risks is also valuable.
- An ability to engage with a wide array of people is central to this role.
- Critical thinking skills and problem-solving ability are also required.
- Proficiency in giving respectful care to diverse patients is important. This involves creating, evaluating, and adjusting care plans.
- Experience in managerial, clinical, and/or technical program support or management is a must.
- A Master's degree is preferred.
