Responsibilities

The Maintenance Director in Training Program plays a critical role in ensuring safe, compliant, and high-functioning environments across Genesis centers.

 

By developing maintenance leaders from within, we strengthen operational excellence, reduce risk, and build a culture of accountability, reliability, and pride in our physical environments.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The Future Leaders Maintenance Director in Training (MIT) Program is a structured leadership development program designed to prepare high-potential maintenance professionals for advancement into Maintenance Director roles within Genesis facilities.

This immersive program builds the technical, regulatory, financial, and leadership capabilities required to effectively oversee plant operations, ensure compliance with life safety and regulatory standards, and maintain a safe, efficient, and high-performing environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

MIT participants complete a phased development experience that includes hands-on facility training, multi-site exposure, leadership coaching, and completion of structured learning plans. The program supports leadership continuity, reduces operational risk, and strengthens maintenance excellence across the organization.

The MIT Maintenance Program applies to selected maintenance team members who demonstrate leadership potential and the ability to support both home and sister facilities.

Participants will:

  • Train within a designated home center
  • Support sister facilities as assigned
  • Progress through structured development phases
  • Participate in leadership development and competency validation
  • When ready participate will be assigned to Center as Maintenance supervisor or director within the company

Program Leadership Structure:

  • Preceptor (Host Center Maintenance Director): Provides day-to-day training, coaching, and performance feedback

  • Sr. Maintenance Director (Floater): Ensures program consistency, conducts oversight, and reports progress to Market and Regional Leadership

  • Market Leadership: Supports program alignment, staffing strategy, and promotion readiness

Qualifications

  1. High school degree or equivalent and basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing and carpentry.
  2. This position requires that the employee is able to read, write, speak and understand the spoken English language to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our patients and visitors at the work site when responding to their medical and physical needs.
  3. Must provide verification of TST (tuberculin skin test) as required by state law and in accordance with Company policy. TSTs will be administered at the work site if Required.

Restrictions apply based on collective bargaining agreements, applicable state law and factors such as pay classification, job grade, location, and length of service.


Posted Salary Range

USD $25.00 - USD $35.00 /Hr.
