As a Quality Administrator, you help protect food safety and customer requirements by keeping quality systems accurate, current, and audit-ready. You’ll support production by maintaining controlled documents, updating QA records, and verifying that finished product can be released from CCPs in line with documented specifications.
A Typical Shift
You’ll spend most of the day at a workstation moving between digital files and paper records, checking that forms match the latest controlled versions and that logs are current. Expect steady coordination with QA and production—answering quick questions, clarifying documentation, and tracking down missing details so records stay clean. Throughout the day you’ll review CCP-related paperwork and, when everything aligns, complete release steps with confidence. The pace is consistent and detail-driven: small discrepancies matter, and you’ll feel the satisfaction of leaving the day with files organized, logs up to date, and decisions well documented. Mon - Fri 2PM - 1030PM schedule. Pay range $22.50 -$24.50 per hour.
DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Review and maintain compliance with SQF, HACCP/CCP, GMP, and process verification standards; identify deficiencies and support corrective and preventive actions.
- Develop and maintain product specification checklists; update formulations and manage documentation for recipe or process changes.
- Serve as a resource for data trending, analysis, and QA documentation.
- Prepare customer-required documentation in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor and analyze production records to identify trends, reduce waste, and improve efficiency; communicate recurring issues to plant leadership.
- Maintain and revise SOPs, ensuring accurate version control and documentation tracking.
- Perform laboratory testing to verify production quality as needed.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and audit standards.
- Inspect and release incoming materials based on specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve routine quality and production issues, including identification and handling of non-conforming materials.
Required qualifications/skills:
- 4-year degree (preferably Food Science) or equivalent education/experience
- 3+ years of food industry experience
- Working knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, and regulatory expectations
- Strong computer skills and high attention to detail
- Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
