THE ROLE:
Lead the design and governance of the bank’s integration architecture, enabling scalable, secure, and resilient connectivity between core banking (Temenos Transact) and the broader ecosystem, including digital channels, fintechs, and third-party systems.
RESPONSIBILITES:
• Define integration architecture based on APIs, microservices, and event-driven patterns to connect with Temenos Transact
• Design a flexible banking ecosystem, minimizing tight coupling with the core banking platform
• Select and govern integration patterns (API Gateway, Event Bus, Orchestration Services, ESB, etc.)
• Design strategies for high availability, resilience, scalability, and observability
• Propose hybrid or cloud-native architecture blueprints aligned with the bank’s strategy
• Establish API governance standards including versioning, security, throttling, and monitoring
• Define guidelines for development, integration, testing, and environments
• Oversee integrations with third parties, vendors, fintechs, and digital channels
• Ensure alignment with Temenos Transact best practices, including API framework and contract mapping
• Prevent unnecessary customization or over-engineering within the core banking platform
• Provide technical leadership to development, integration, and DevOps teams
• Review designs, ensure technical quality, and drive knowledge sharing
• Coordinate API enablement and digital transformation initiatives SKILLS
• Strong experience in API design (REST, GraphQL)
• Solid knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI)
• Experience with asynchronous integration (Kafka, MQ, EventBridge, Pub/Sub)
• Knowledge of integration patterns (Saga, Orchestration, API Gateway, Adapter Pattern)
• Hands-on experience with API Gateways and ESBs (WSO2, Apigee, Kong, MuleSoft, etc.)
• Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift) • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (GitLab CI, Jenkins, Azure DevOps)
• Experience with observability tools (ELK, Prometheus/Grafana, OpenTelemetry)
• Strong understanding of security standards (OAuth2, OIDC, mTLS, IAM, secrets management)
• Knowledge of best practices for exposing secure banking APIs
