Job Description
The Everyday Essentials Experience Org delivers a world-class shopping experience for everyday essentials that is efficient, habitual, and economical for customers and selling partners. We are looking for a Software Development Engineer with strong ownership and a drive to solve complex, large-scale problems through creative solutions.
The Everyday Essential Cost to Serve team drives multi-million dollar cost savings for Amazon through its multipack programs. The team owns how Amazon represents, prices, and fulfills multipack products worldwide, and is currently executing a ground-up re-architecture of the multipack platform as a leadership-priority initiative, promoting multipacks to first-class purchasable products. This work changes how millions of customers discover, purchase, and receive multipacks, and how selling partners manage their multipack catalog.
What makes this role unique is the breadth. Your work will span the entire retail funnel: ASIN creation, catalog ingestion, pricing determination, selection and ranking, and customer-facing experiences on Search, Detail Page, Cart, Checkout,
and the multipacks storefront. You will work closely with the science team and have the opportunity to develop and influence the models that drive multipack selection and personalization. Few teams at Amazon offer this combination of
end-to-end systems exposure.
You will build systems that separate what a customer buys from how it is fulfilled, enabling seamless multipack experiences from online multipacks fulfilled with individual units to physical products shipped as a single item. You will have the freedom to experiment, propose new multipack experiences, and ship them worldwide. Your ideas move from whiteboard to production, visible to hundreds of millions of customers. You will shape foundational decisions in an active re-architecture program with high visibility to senior leadership
Key job responsibilities
Design, build, and own end-to-end software solutions that are scalable, reliable, and maintainable across the full software development lifecycle.
Collaborate with product managers, principal engineers, and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical designs and working software.
Drive continuous improvement by identifying gaps in existing systems, proposing solutions, and delivering results with a high bar for quality and operational excellence.
Participate actively in code reviews, contribute to team best practices, and mentor junior engineers to raise the technical bar across the team.
Operate with a good sense of ownership — monitoring systems you build, responding to operational issues, and iterating quickly to improve customer and partner experience.
The Everyday Essentials Experience Org delivers a world-class shopping experience for everyday essentials that is efficient, habitual, and economical for customers and selling partners. We are looking
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
