Carousell Future Business Leader Programme (Graduate Track)
Job Description
The Role
This is not a typical corporate management trainee programme. It is a highly selective programme meticulously designed to maximize the potential of high potential individuals and develop autonomous, relentless operators - individuals we call "Barrels." A Barrel is an exceptional talent who is relentlessly resourceful in working backwards from desired outcomes, and making impact by solving problems and executing with high velocity.
The Programme
You will first go through a 3-month intensive immersion journey in the Founders Office, gaining fluency in data, finance and marketplace fundamentals. You will then go through 3 structured rotations spanning over the next 21 months in our core business engines - product, growth and commercialisation. In each rotation, you will report to a senior leader, and will be brought through a structured learning programme that will equip you with the suite of skillsets and playbooks that are critical in leading an online marketplace. You will apply these in real world situations that make direct impact on our community of users and customers. As you learn the ropes from our senior leaders and fellow teammates, you will simultaneously be involved in organisational capability building programmes that will shape the future of our business. Your goal is clear: to own a product, category, market, or growth engine upon the completion of this 24-month high-intensity talent incubator programme.
The Difference
What makes our programme unique:
Zero Bureaucracy, HIgh Skin-in-the-Game: A small batch intake means your direct manager will be one of our senior executives, providing focused mentorship. You will own high-stakes mandates - a real P&L and metrics from day 1.
Executive mentorship: You will get dedicated executive mentorship to hone your instincts for building an enduring business.
Direct access to the Group CEO: Graduate with an entrepreneurial mindset and vision, amplified by close interaction with the Co-founder and Group CEO.
Co-create the AI strategy: Every rotation is biased towards direct ownership in leveraging our AI infrastructure as a force multiplier to solve user problems and translate technical capabilities to commercial and product breakthroughs.
The Profile of a Successful Applicant
Education: Strong logic, data fluency, business acumen, and excellent communication skills are non-negotiable. The recommended academic background includes data analytics, economics, finance and business fields, or in technical fields such as engineering, with an exceptional interest in becoming a business operator.
Experience: 0 to 2 years of professional work experience post-graduation. We care infinitely more about what you have shipped than your years on a resume.
Character and behavioural traits: Individuals who are entrepreneurial, resourceful, and team-oriented - with the 'fire in the belly' to get things done, play as a team, and bounce back quickly from failure.
The "Builder" Signal: You have founded something, joined an early-stage startup, run a profitable side-hustle, or led a community. You know what it feels like to create something out of nothing.
Resilience: You have a high tolerance for ambiguity, thrive under execution pressure, and view failures simply as data points to pivot quickly.
AI-Natives: Using tools like Claude, Cursor, n8n, v0, or custom GPTs isn't a bonus - it's how you work daily. You have used AI to architect systems and multiply your output - not just to write better, but to build, automate, and ship things that would be impossible alone.
