Position Summary

Reporting to the Manager, EHS & Facilities, the Manufacturing Support Technician – EHS/Facilities supports Environmental, Health, Safety, and Facilities programs at the Dayton, OH facility. This role partners with cross-functional teams to promote safe work practices, ensure regulatory compliance, and support facility operations, with a focus on driving a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine EHS audits and inspections to ensure compliance, safe working conditions, and effective use of company assets.
  • Monitor and manage waste streams, ensuring compliance with recycling standards and RCRA requirements.
  • Provide daily EHS support to Operations, Maintenance, and Warehouse teams.
  • Maintain and update safety programs and documentation (e.g., Hot Work, Confined Space, Powered Industrial Trucks, Hazard Communication, Lockout/Tagout, Job Safety Analyses, Lockout Maps, and access procedures).
  • Administer and support key programs including PPE, LOTO, safety training, SDS management, and OSHA-required activities.
  • Assist with incident reporting and investigations by identifying root causes, tracking trends, and ensuring timely corrective actions.
  • Support development, coordination, delivery, and auditing of safety training, including new hire orientation and ongoing training activities; ensure training and inspection records are accurate and compliant.
  • Promote a strong safety culture by addressing unsafe behaviors and conditions and supporting employee engagement.
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness activities, including drills, evacuations, and shelter procedures.
  • Assist with industrial hygiene monitoring and chemical safety assessments.
  • Serve as a CPR/First Aid/AED responder and support First Aid readiness.
  • Perform administrative and reporting tasks related to EHS and Facilities systems, supporting 5S and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with facility services and asset management, including vendor coordination, purchase requisitions, invoice validation, and inventory tracking (SAP/Microsoft systems).
  • Complete additional duties and projects as assigned.

We we are looking for

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience.
  • At least 1 year of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) experience (Safety and/or Environmental).
  • Basic computer proficiency, including working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications such as Outlook (email), Excel (spreadsheets), and Word.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and sound decision-making ability.
  • Ability to effectively follow standardized procedures, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions, including standing and walking for extended periods; lifting up to 40 pounds; and performing tasks that involve stretching, bending, reaching, twisting, turning, pushing, pulling, climbing (including ladders), and walking moderate distances.

 

Preferred

  • Associate degree, technical training, or coursework in a STEM-related field (completed or in progress).
  • Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment (e.g., OSHA, EPA, or similar compliance standards).
  • Bilingual or multilingual communication skills.
  • Prior certifications or training in EHS-related areas such as First Aid/CPR/AED, Hazard Communication (HAZCOM), or OSHA programs.
  • Experience with EHS or maintenance management systems (e.g., SAP, EHS software, or similar tools).

Total Rewards Package

The pay rate for this position is up to USD $30.00/Hr. per hour
