About Us
The Bronx clinic (funded $12+million) of the Hispanic Community Health Study is 1 of 4 national sites contracted by the government to recruit Hispanic Latino adults residing in the Bronx territory. Recruiters are required to bring in a total of 4,000 participants into the study. To do so, they must be able to walk up/down stairs in non elevator buildings, carry a laptop and/or study equipment), they will be required to communicate verbally and in writing in English and Spanish to non-English speaking study participants;
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interview and screen potential participants in person or telephone utilizing Spanish and English;
- Administer consent forms and questionnaires utilizing Spanish and English
- Collect research data when required, assist with outreach and community screening, etc.
- Schedule appointments and make appointment reminder calls utilizing Spanish and English communication
- Maintain database of information
- Assist Principal Investigator in generating reports from the study
- Provides courteous, responsive, and participant-centered service
- Organizes workload effectively and manages multiple priorities
- Listens attentively to understand needs and concerns
- Demonstrates flexibility in schedule including evenings and weekends
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Graduate plus 6 months - 1 year of clerical experience required
- Required proficiency to communicate effectively in English and Spanish both verbally and in writing with non-English speaking participants
- Models a positive attitude and takes initiative as a self-starter
- Applies learning from past experiences to improve future efforts
- Understands and uses technology to accomplish goals
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook. May use other web-based programs as assigned
- Strong knowledge of navigating through the Bronx neighborhoods using mass transportation
