Senior Assignment Desk Editor

Summary Entravision is seeking a highly experienced and driven Senior Assignment Editor to join our national news operation, streaming-first news operation serving U.S. Hispanic audiences across digital, social, OTT, FAST, and connected TV platforms. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced newsroom environment, possesses exceptional editorial judgment, and has deep experience managing stories at a national assignment desk level. This role requires strong bilingual communication skills, excellent news instincts, and the ability to coordinate coverage across multiple markets and platforms simultaneously. Essential Functions Monitor and identify breaking news stories, trends, and developing events across national and international news sources. Coordinate daily news gathering operations for broadcast, digital, social, and streaming platforms. Develop and maintain strong relationships with news sources, public agencies, stringers, and field crews. Book guests, experts, officials, and live interviews for news programs and special coverage. Collaborate closely with executive producers, producers, reporters, digital teams, and streaming news operations. Assign and prioritize stories based on editorial value, audience impact, and platform needs. Write and distribute clear editorial notes, story summaries, and breaking news updates in Spanish. Assist in coverage planning for major news events, elections, severe weather, and special projects. Ensure accuracy, urgency, and editorial standards across all content and communications. Be available to travel when required for major news events, special coverage, and breaking news situations. Work extended and flexible hours as dictated by breaking news and live event coverage.
