
Facilities - Commercial Kitchen Technician
Job Description
Maintenance and repair of refrigerators, freezers, vent hoods, vent hood fire systems, boilers, cooling towers and other utility units.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Read approved plans/blueprints and specifications to determine and execute most efficient and effective method for the installation and repair of equipment.
- Utilizing accepted principles and practices make repairs as required to mechanical systems and kitchen equipment.
- Perform Refrigeration work without limitation to horsepower capacity (Class E).
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and controls problems.
- Perform preventative maintenance on existing equipment to minimize possibility of system shut downs.
- Recognize, evaluate and correct safety hazards and advise immediate supervisor of the problem.
- Respond to evening, weekend, and holiday emergency call for service.
- Maintenance on the following commercial equipment: chillers, boilers, cooling towers, and emergency generators.
- Complete building walk-throughs and system installation commissioning of work performed by outside contractors.
- Performs various building inspection functions.
- Assist in other areas within the department when needed.
- Class E Only: Perform refrigeration work without limitation to horespower capacity.
- Service Technician Only: Toubleshooting and repairing all kitchen equipment.
- Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
