Position Summary
The DSE S.LSI Quality team is seeking a detail-oriented working student to support the Failure Analysis (FA) and Hardware Lab for CIS and SOC. The successful candidate will play a key role in accelerating the lab's operational ramp-up by assisting with hardware debugging and the use of SMUs, while leveraging Python and SQL to improve automation and data retrieval. This role requires a strong foundation in basic electronics and proficiency in data tools such as SQL and Power BI, calling for a "detective" mindset to solve complex technical issues. This position offers a valuable opportunity for an active student to gain hands-on industry experience while enabling the core engineering team to focus on strategic responsibilities.Role and Responsibilities
As a part of our team, you will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Perform first-level electrical failure analysis as well as image analysis, incoming inspection and detailed visual inspection using optical microscope.
- Execute precision electrical measurements using professional lab equipment (Oscilloscopes, Digital Multimeters, Logic Analyzers, etc.).
- Design and setup test environments on dedicated boards to simulate, reproduce, and validate reported hardware failures.
- Develop GUI tools (e.g., via Python) to interface with hardware and streamline automated testing procedures.
- Design and maintain Power BI reports & dashboards to visualize failure trends and provide actionable insights to the engineering team.
- Transform complex findings into structured entries for our technical knowledge base to support global troubleshooting.
Skills and Qualifications
YOUR PROFILE
- Currently enrolled in a relevant Master program such as Mathematics, Data Science, Software Engineering, or similar.
- Experience and hands-on lab work, soldering, and hardware debugging using SMU, oscilloscopes and application boards.
- Solid understanding of basic electronics, circuit behavior, and component functions.
- Practical experience in Python (for automation) and SQL (for data retrieval).
- Proficiency in data tools like Excel; experience with Power BI is a significant advantage.
- A structured, detail-oriented work style and the "detective" mindset needed to solve real-world technical puzzles
- Proficiency in programming languages, especially those relevant to automation (Python, SQL).
- Curious and eager to grow your skills in data analytics and machine learning (basic knowledge is a plus).
- Self-driven, structured, and a strong communicator in English.
