Position Overview
United Health Services (UHS) is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Memorial 5 Behavioral Health unit at Binghamton General Hospital. This 17‑bed adult high acuity inpatient psychiatric medical unit provides compassionate, patient‑centered care for individuals with a wide range of behavioral health diagnoses. The Memorial 5 team is dedicated to creating a safe, respectful, and therapeutic environment that supports recovery and dignity, in alignment with the UHS mission to improve the health of the communities we serve.Nurses on Memorial 5 collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team of mental health technicians, social workers, therapists, and providers to deliver holistic, individualized care. This is a per diem position, which means you will work on an as needed, agreed upon basis. Working hours will be assigned by your manager.
Compensation Range:
$40.70 - $61.05 per hour, depending on experienceThis position is not eligible for benefits.

Responsibilities
Assesses, plans, delegates, coordinates, implements and evaluates nursing care in managing a group of patients, serving as a primary nurse and/or accountable nurse, when designated by unit assignment and consideration of factors related to safety, effectiveness, competency, cost and impact.
Educates patient and family in health promotion and disease management using available resources.
Utilizes a working knowledge of pharmacology and safely administers medications according to United Health Services policy.
Shares in responsibility for productivity and effective resources utilization including staffing, time management, supplies and services.
Complies with all nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and United Health Services policies.
Actively participates in and supports the Nursing Shared Governance Model by supporting the Unit Council, participating in improvement initiatives, and contributing to peer review practices.
Actively engages in professional development, continuing nursing education, and completing all mandatory education requirements.
Integrates nursing research and current evidence into practice.
Provides a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.

Will perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience
Minimum Required:
- A graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
Preferred:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing
- Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting
License/Certification
Minimum Required:
- Current NYS RN License
Preferred:
- Professional certification in a related nursing specialty
- Relevant skills certification (i.e., ACLS, PALS, TNCC) as required by home unit assigned.
