Job Description
Head of Platform, Engineering, Infrastructure & AI Systems
Position Summary
We are seeking a Chief Technology Officer to join the founding leadership team of a new AI-native wealth platform launched in partnership with major financial institutions. The CTO is responsible for the overall technology vision, platform architecture, engineering execution, AI and data infrastructure, cybersecurity, and operational resilience of the company — building and scaling a world-class technology organization capable of delivering a secure, reliable, AI-enabled platform at consumer scale.
The CTO serves as a member of the executive leadership team and acts as the principal technology advisor to the CEO and Board on platform strategy, architectural investments, AI infrastructure, cybersecurity posture, and engineering execution.
This is a hands-on founding role for a leader who combines technical depth with executive-scale organization-building experience. The ideal candidate has built or operated internet-scale infrastructure, scaled large engineering organizations through periods of rapid growth, and operates credibly with engineers, executives, regulators, and the Board. The CTO is expected to be both a builder of platforms and a builder of organizations.
Core Mission
Build and scale a technology organization that delivers a platform that:
- Operates securely, reliably, and 24×7 at consumer scale
- Is designed from day one for scalability, resilience, security, observability, and regulatory compliance
- Provides the AI and data infrastructure that powers an AI-native wealth platform
- Translates product, design, and AI requirements into a production-grade implementation
- Attracts and retains elite technical talent — engineers, architects, security professionals, SRE, and data engineers
- Evolves the architecture, organization, and operating model as the company scales
- Establishes the engineering culture, standards, and operating cadence required for long-term execution
Required Experience
- Direct experience with scaling platforms supporting millions of users
- Strong computer science foundation, with deep expertise in distributed systems, cloud architecture, networking, security, data platforms, and AI/ML infrastructure
- Experience managing both infrastructure and application engineering organizations
Leadership Characteristics
- Builder of organizations, not merely products
- Able to recruit and retain elite technical talent at scale
- Strong communicator
- Balances innovation with disciplined execution
- Demonstrates ownership mentality and long-term thinking
- Combines technical depth with executive judgment
- Operates well in both early-stage ambiguity and at scaled-operating maturity
Salary Range:
$170,000 - $282,500 AnnualThe range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
