The Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board (HNNCSB) is seeking a Residential Treatment Supervisor to support the Southeastern Family Project (SEFP), a residential substance use disorder treatment program serving women, including non-pregnant women, pregnant women, and those who are recently postpartum, along with their infants.

SEFP is a structured residential program aligned with ASAM Levels 3.5 and 3.1, offering comprehensive, gender-specific behavioral health services. The program is designed to provide a safe, therapeutic environment where women can focus on recovery, build life skills, and improve overall health and stability for themselves and their families.

This leadership role combines clinical care, staff supervision, and program oversight. The selected candidate will have a direct impact on client outcomes, staff performance, and overall program quality, while ensuring compliance with clinical standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage an active caseload, providing assessments, diagnostic evaluations, treatment planning, counseling (individual, group, and family), and discharge/aftercare planning
  • Conduct program eligibility screenings and monitor client progress throughout treatment
  • Supervise, train, and support residential staff, including assigning cases and evaluating performance
  • Ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of all clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory standards (including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2)
  • Respond to crises using sound clinical judgment to ensure the safety of clients and staff
  • Coordinate services with internal teams, community agencies, healthcare providers, and legal entities as needed
  • Facilitate educational groups, staff trainings, and client-centered programming
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and risk management activities

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Human Services, Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field
  • Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience working with individuals with substance use disorders or serious mental illness
  • Must be eligible for Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) supervision approval in Virginia within 30 days of hire.
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred
  • Residential treatment experience preferred
  • Valid driver's license; ability to transport clients as needed

Work Environment:

This position operates within a residential treatment setting and involves ongoing interaction with individuals experiencing substance use and mental health challenges. The role may require evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional on-call responsibilities.

Benefits:

HNNCSB offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, life insurance, flexible spending accounts (FSA), employee discounts, and participation in the Virginia Retirement System (VRS).

Join a mission-driven organization dedicated to improving the lives of women and families in the Peninsula community. If you are passionate about recovery-focused care and clinical leadership, we encourage you to apply today.

*Current HNNCSB staff are not eligible for a sign-on bonus.

The selected candidate must successfully pass a criminal history fingerprint background investigation, DMV record check, Child Registry search, drug screening test and employment reference checks.
