While this is a PRN role, candidates with little to no phlebotomy experience must be available to complete full-time training.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare for and perform phlebotomy on patients of all ages, from pediatric to geriatric
- Prepare and package samples for pickup
- Maintain appropriate inventory of supplies
- Accurately document blood draws in patient charts

Collects and manages samples of blood and specimens from patients/residents; ensures patient/resident safety during the sample collection process. Records and documents patient/resident information accurately. Follows all standard procedures and safety regulations; deploys asepsis techniques during phlebotomy procedures. Communicates with patients/residents, collecting their health information and answering their questions regarding phlebotomy procedures.
Qualifications
High school diploma or General Educational Development Diploma (GED) required.
Completion of a formal phlebotomy program, phlebotomy experience, and experience in a laboratory-related field preferred. May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
