Part Time Onsite Recreational Assistant/Office Assistant
We are looking for a reliable self-efficient person to create banquet and tennis reservations for residents and to answer phones, give tours and attend to email inquiries. The recreation assistant position will have outstanding customer service skills and be responsible for maintaining surveillance of all activity in the recreational facility to ensure safety and security of children and adults.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist residents with private banquet event planning.
- Event setup, set up banquet room with requested tables and chairs.
- Organize various events such as game night, bunco, cooking classes, food trucks, summer barbecues, concerts in the park etc.
- Explain and enforce rules and regulations to homeowners and guests of the recreation facility.
- Identify situations where residents are not able to safely participate in an activity and inform the Director.
- Office memo preparation, assist new members with ID cards and paperwork, other office duties assigned by the Director.
- Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards. Move, lift, or carry objects weighing less than or equal to 40 pounds, stand, sit, or walk for an extended period.
- Other work-related tasks as needed.
Skills required:
Customer Service Skills: An enjoyment of dealing with customers, being friendly, helpful and providing an excellent level of service to customers
Communication Skills: Can assess if a customer does not understand an instruction, policy or requirement, and can explain to them in different ways, to make sure they understand.
Team Player: Will help out and do other duties if required, not afraid to get their hands dirty and will go the extra mile.
Decision-making skills: Must be able to think on your feet and adapt to changing conditions.
Technical Skills: Must be able to pick up practical skills easily and become proficient in using them
Physical Requirements
• Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and work on a computer.
• Ability to occasionally stand, walk, bend, or reach as needed.
• Ability to lift or move objects up to 10–15 pounds (e.g., files, office supplies).
• Manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, telephone, and other office equipment.
• Visual acuity to read printed materials, spreadsheets, and computer screens.
• Hearing and speech ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and in virtual meetings.
• Ability to work in a standard office environment with moderate noise levels.
• Ability to work a standard schedule, with occasional extended hours as required.
Pay and Benefits:
$18.50 to $19.00, depending on education and experience.
