Summary
The Regional Development Technical Manager (RTM) coordinates field development programs for the FMC portfolio within the assigned region, requiring strong agronomic expertise across crops and countries.
The role involves building a solid understanding of product biology and ensuring effective delivery of efficacy and crop safety trials. A background in biology, plant protection, and business is essential, with additional value placed on experience in knowledge transfer and application technologies.
The RTM must combine expertise in crop protection and regulatory requirements with strong communication, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
This position reports to a Development Team Lead within the EMEA Development organization.
Location: Europe Remote
Main Responsibilities
Coordinate regional/subregional field development programs (biology plans, protocols, trials, data analysis, and reporting)
Define field trials program objectives and translate results into clear summaries and presentations
Advise the business on portfolio strategy using technical expertise and field data insights
Collaborate with regional teams, agronomists, and external partners (e.g. research institutes, Universities) to ensure strong, market-relevant product positioning
Work with regulatory and data teams to deliver high-quality datasets for decision-making and product registration
Drive knowledge transfer to technical marketing and service teams; monitor competitor developments to identify differentiation opportunities
Track and communicate relevant competitors technology developments, identify and champion potential opportunities to differentiate FMC’s portfolio and provide value to our customer
Mandatory Requirements
Master’s degree in agriculture (or similar) with at least 5 years’ experience in the agricultural sector
Strong project management skills, including planning, prioritization, and budget management
Proven expertise in crop management, field trials, experimental design, and data analysisGood understanding of EU BAD requirements with experience in generating BAD-compliant data
Solid knowledge of crop protection, crop management practices, and emerging technologies
Willingness to travel frequently across Europe during peak season for field trials visits
Fluent in English (written and spoken)
