About the role
As a Shift Team Leader, you’ll provide frontline leadership to a multi-skilled team of operators and electrical/mechanical technicians in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Reporting to the Senior Team Leader, you’ll take ownership of performance across your shift — ensuring high standards in safety, quality, efficiency, and delivery — while developing the capability and engagement of your team.
What you will do
- Lead, coach and support your team to deliver safe, high-quality and efficient production
- Drive performance through clear standards, continuous improvement and problem-solving
- Develop team capability through structured training and skill development plans
- Conduct regular 1:1s, providing feedback and supporting individual growth
- Manage time, attendance and performance in a fair and consistent way
- Foster a positive, inclusive and high-performing team culture
- Identify and implement improvements using methodologies such as Lean, 5S and root cause analysis
Who you are
You’re a motivated and people-focused leader with the drive to grow and make an impact. You don’t necessarily need to have come from a traditional leadership path — what matters is your ability to lead, influence and develop others.
You’ll bring:
- Experience in a manufacturing or similar fast-paced environment (e.g. FMCG)
- Demonstrated leadership capability — whether through team leadership, projects or leading initiatives
- A strong commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement
- Problem-solving skills and a proactive, forward-thinking mindset
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate others
- Experience working in or contributing to change and improvement activities
