Science Instructor (STEM Discovery Program)

Athletes Global Corporation is seeking an enthusiastic and engaging Science Instructor to lead our STEM Discovery summer program for students ages 6-12. This hands-on program introduces students to science, engineering, technology, innovation, and problem-solving through exciting projects and interactive learning experiences.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with youth, can manage a classroom independently, and has experience teaching or facilitating STEM-related activities.

Program Details

• Location: District Heights Parks & Recreation, District Heights, MD
• Dates: June 23, 2026 - July 30, 2026
• Schedule: Tuesdays & Thursdays
• Ages 6-9: 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM
• Ages 10-12: 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM

Responsibilities

• Lead engaging STEM lessons for students - take home invention project
• Engineering build kits and technology exploration activities
• Facilitate hands-on science experiments and engineering challenges
• Guide students through invention and technology exploration activities
• Create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
• Showcase materials
• Manage classroom behavior and maintain student engagement
• Communicate professionally with program staff and site personnel
• Arrive prepared and on time for all scheduled classes
• STEM Discovery Journal, Certificates and recognition awards

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience teaching, coaching, tutoring, mentoring, or leading youth programs
• Background in Science, STEM, Engineering, Education, Technology, Robotics, or related fields
• Ability to explain concepts in a fun and age-appropriate manner
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply

Requirements

• Must pass a background check
• Experience teaching in a classroom
• Reliable transportation
