The Opportunity
As Director of Acute & Post Acute Talent Acquisition/Recruitment, you will lead a dedicated team of recruiters and coordinators focused exclusively on staffing our acute care hospitals, rehabilitation centers, skilled nursing facilities, and post acute care settings. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role for a leader who thrives on building systems, developing teams, and solving complex healthcare workforce challenges at scale.
You will report to the Vice President of Talent Acquisition and serve as a key partner to nursing executives, regional presidents, and HR leadership across the system. You will also play a central role in a transformational moment for our TA function — including the launch of new AI-powered sourcing tools, redesigned workflows, and a strengthened employer brand.
What You’ll Do
Lead & Develop Your Team
- Build, coach, and inspire a team of clinical recruiters and coordinators dedicated to acute and post acute talent acquisition
- Create a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and exceptional service to candidates and hiring managers
- Drive recruiter development through structured mentorship, training programs, and career pathing initiatives
Shape Strategy & Drive Results
- Own and execute the acute and post acute recruitment strategy aligned with organizational workforce and patient care goals
- Partner with nursing executives, regional presidents, and hiring managers to forecast staffing needs and build proactive talent pipelines
- Lead the build-out of a dedicated Nurse Recruitment Pod — a specialized model designed to accelerate nursing talent acquisition across the system
- Develop strategies to reduce time-to-fill, improve offer acceptance rates, and decrease reliance on agency and premium labor
Innovate & Optimize
- Champion the adoption of AI recruiting tools, CRM platforms, and scheduling automation to modernize the recruitment experience
- Redesign and continuously improve intake, sourcing, screening, and offer management workflows
- Build multi-channel sourcing pipelines including social media, campus partnerships, clinical residency programs, employee referrals, and targeted campaigns
Measure What Matters
- Track and report on KPIs including time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, quality of hire, offer acceptance rate, and requisition load
- Provide regular market intelligence and recruitment performance updates to senior leadership and regional partners
- Use national benchmarks and internal data to set realistic expectations and drive data-informed hiring decisions
What We’re Looking For
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field
- 7–10+ years of progressive talent acquisition experience, with at least 5 years leading clinical or healthcare recruitment teams
- Proven ability to build and scale high-performing recruitment teams in complex, matrixed health systems
- Strong command of ATS platforms (Workday preferred), AI sourcing tools, and recruitment analytics
- Experience managing agency partnerships, vendor performance, and premium labor reduction strategies
- Exceptional communication and executive presence — comfortable engaging regional presidents, CNOs, and C-suite leaders
Preferred
- Master’s degree in HR, Healthcare Administration, or Business Administration
- SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent senior HR certification
- Demonstrated success recruiting for acute care, post acute, nursing, or allied health roles in a high-volume environment
- Experience with AI recruiting platforms such as Paradox, Findem, HireScore, or Talroo
- Background in employer branding, EVP development, or recruitment marketing
- Experience building specialized recruitment pods or center-of-excellence models within a health system
