Eaton’s IS VEH EMB division is currently seeking a Senior Financial Analyst. Relocation assistance is provided and this position sit in our Carol Steam, IL site.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $86000 - $126000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

Position overview
The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for providing financial examination and support to plant management while ensuring the integrity of financial reporting within the guidelines of GAAP, Sarbanes Oxley, Eaton financial policies, procedures, and applicable tax codes. Key responsibilities include analysis of systems and review of plant costing and accounting activities, providing recommendations and performing actions to ensure efficiency in both the manufacturing and the administration areas. The Senior Financial Analyst is a key member of the Accounting department and reports to the Plant Finance Leader.
Essential functions:
- Support in month end financial closings, preparing journal entries, variance analysis and financial reporting
- Assist with the preparation of monthly forecasts, annual profit plan, strategic plan, operating reviews and reporting of financial data and analysis
- Research, compile and analyze financial data; present summarized results and recommendations to management. Review and evaluate financial results for accuracy, consistency, and transparency. Maintain integrity of financial results
- Help review balance sheet reconciliations to ensure no variances on the balance sheet
- Prepare special projects and operational reports for presentation to plant and/or division management as well as work to design, develop, and execute improved financial processes
- Assist in resolving accounting problems related to the plant and complying with corporate requirements
- Provide guidance and education as needed to plant personnel on financial objectives and means of achievement
- Monitor, maintain, and report all plant cost out project results
- Review and analyze production jobs to understand variances, inventory movement, and perform closures once orders are complete
- Partner with materials team to ensure inventory controls and compliance
- Support inventory reviews with cross functional teams to minimize excess and obsolete and maintain healthy inventory levels
- Review production scrap, sale of scrap, and operational performance to understand drivers and potential opportunities
- Lead capital project accounting for plant including budgeting, recognition of expense, and tracking and closing projects as needed
- Create complex, global, multi project CARS to obtain senior management approval for capital spend. All costs pertaining to purchases, services, internal resources, and external consultant work are evaluated based on prescribed accounting rules to determine the appropriate classification
- Host meetings with local finance personnel and project managers to understand the extent of progress made and supporting the monthly accruals for capital and expense
- Perform monthly reconciliations and monitoring for Plex and Oracle transactions, including construction in progress accounts and any operational data, to minimize variances between Plex ERP and Oracle modules
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business from an accredited institution
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in financial planning, analysis and/or performance reporting
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship both now and in the future
Preferred qualifications
- Strong understanding of SOX/US GAAP
- Experience in a plant/manufacturing environment
Continued Process Improvement
Master in excel - Knowledge of financial analysis, ledger accounting, standard costs and business management processes
- Strong knowledge in the creation of project budgets, the accounting close and forecast processes
- Broad knowledge of key operational systems including sales inventory operations planning (SIOP), materials planning systems (MRP), enterprise resource planning (ERP) and quality systems with diverse experience managing varied and complex manufacturing processes
- Intermediate to expert level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office
- Bilingual skills in Spanish
- Plex and Oracle ERP System experience
