Job Description:

The Technical Trainer is responsible for delivering engaging customer training on Warehouse Solutions equipment and supporting successful product implementation at customer sites. This role works closely with Sales, Project Management, and customers to coordinate training activities, support installation and commissioning, address technical issues, and help ensure a strong overall customer experience.

Responsibilities:
•    Travel throughout International markets to visit customers for the purpose of training their operation and maintenance staff on the care and use our Warehouse Solutions product lines (Destuff-IT, Restuff-IT, Cascading Belt Conveyors, etc.)
•    Understand production and shipping calendar to plan customer on-site staff training.
•    Manage training budget (travel and accommodations) per job order, ensure set targets are achieved.
•    Develop and maintain strong relationships with active accounts.
•    In collaboration with Warehouse Solutions Sales; plan cost effective solutions for coordinating product demonstrations, sales travel, and training.
•    Work with Marketing Department to update the operation and maintenance manuals as needed and to create and update training documents.
•    Prepare training plans.
•    Prepare training and expenses reports and update customer files.
•    Assist during the installation and commissioning of equipment at customer sites.
•    Communicate any quality issues identified during commissioning or when receiving equipment at customer facilities.
•    Support troubleshooting of issues reported by customers, as well as those identified during installation, commissioning, or training related to Warehouse Solutions product lines (Destuff-IT, Restuff-IT, Cascading Belt Conveyors, etc.)
•    Coordinate with Project Managers and the Sales team regarding training schedules and follow-up visits to customer sites.
•    Communicate with the Sales department when identifying opportunities for additional sales while visiting customer sites for training or other purposes.

In addition to the responsibilities listed above, employees are also expected to complete other duties as required. Dependent on business needs, percent of work may change as needed.  All employees are expected to have familiarized themselves with the Health & Safety and Human Resources manuals, including their responsibilities as outlined in each.

Qualifications:
Education:
•    Post secondary diploma or degree, preferred. 
•    Proficient Microsoft Office Suite skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project).

Job Qualifications and Training Requirements:
•    Two (2) to four (4) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
•    Industry experience in supply chain, material handling, warehouse, distribution and/or 3PL
•    Demonstrates ability to learn technical aspects of products.
•    Demonstrates strong customer service, solid product knowledge, and mechanical aptitude.
•    Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and passport for onsite client locations.  Able to provide drivers abstract if requested.

•    Thorough knowledge of the standard business practices, tools and training terminology of products and services for a manufacturer of custom and standard products.

Working Conditions:

ADA Physical/Mental/Workplace Requirements​
•    Requires moderate overnight travel, up to 75% of the time. 
•    Occasional office attendance is required for meetings and training.
•    Usually works a standard forty (40) hour work week.
•    May be required to work flex hours to accommodate customer requests.
•    May be required to travel on weekends.
•    May be required to work some overtime hours to complete install activities.
•    May experience tight deadlines and stressful conditions at times.
•    Must be able to manage frequent interruptions and multiple tasks daily.
•    Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
•    Sitting, working at desk/personal computer for periods of time.
•    Standing and walking for extended periods of time.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Gorbel, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
