Pediatric Phlebotomist & Clinical Research Assistant
Full-Time/Non-Exempt | On-Site Only
Reports to: Site Manager
Position Summary
We are seeking a Pediatric Phlebotomist & Clinical Research Assistant to support our clinical research team in the daily operations of clinical trials. This role combines both clinical and administrative responsibilities, including direct patient interaction, study coordination, and data support. The ideal candidate is organized, patient-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical research environment. Strong communication with the study team, Site Manager, and participants is essential. Adherence to site SOPs and regulatory standards is required at all times. This is a fully on-site position, no remote or hybrid work options are available
Key Responsibilities
- Support patient recruitment through pre-screening and scheduling
- Prepare source documentation and visit binders for study visits
- Request and manage medical records as needed
- Ensure completion of e-diaries by study participants
- Check patients in and out for study visits
- Coordinate participant compensation
- Answer and route incoming calls professionally
- Maintain inventory of lab and study supplies
- Perform phlebotomy (blood draws) and specimen processing
- Obtain vital signs and perform EKGs/ECGs
- Maintain accurate study documentation and master logs (ICF, enrollment, patient IDs, etc.)
- Enter data into EDC systems and resolve queries within 24 hours
- Maintain daily temperature logs and regulatory documentation
- Record adverse events and assist with sponsor reporting requirements
- Support additional clinical and administrative duties as assigned
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 6+ months of experience as a Medical Assistant, EMT, or in a related healthcare role preferred
- Phlebotomy experience required or strongly preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Clinical research experience is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or GED required
- Some college or healthcare-related coursework preferred
