WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Director, Commercial Credit Portfolio Management is responsible for leadership and oversight of the underwriting of commercial requests for existing customers, periodic dealer reviews, and risk management for the national commercial portfolio. This role will collaborate with Operations, Risk, and Sales to provide dealer servicing support as well as conduct dealer risk assessment/management to achieve assigned company goals related to commercial portfolio management.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

1.    Commercial Credit Underwriting

·         Daily management and oversight of Commercial underwriting activities including requests from existing customers and annual reviews.

·         Oversee portfolio servicing activities which include credit lines adjustments, interim requests, payoffs, OEM support, and collection activities.

·         Work closely with legal, real estate, risk, and operations to ensure HCA upholds compliance and operational integrity across commercial portfolio. 

 

2.    Commercial Risk Management

·         Lead commercial risk management strategy to implement new risk framework and risk mitigation processes.

·         Continue to build out and enhance credit watch meetings around high-risk dealerships and dealer groups.

·         Drive sales engagement around commercial risk management.

·         Create additional risk framework around UCC compliance/due diligence, wholesale/real estate insurance, new/used overline exceptions, and floorplan audit compliance.

·         Direct and coordinate with other related depts. such as Risk and legal, the identification of and subsequent control and liquidation of default/status dealers.

 

3.    Strategy & Process Enhancement

·         Lead strategic planning and execution to improve commercial dealer satisfaction and support. Create efficiencies and leverage artificial intelligence (AI) to optimize credit review underwriting, risk management, and collection of commercial receivables.

·         Create efficiencies around daily/monthly dealer collection process around floorplan interest, loan payments, curtailments, and insurance.

·         Develop enhanced structure around non floorplan loan renewals to drive increased floorplan retention and satisfaction.

 

4.    Project Management/Strategic Initiatives

·         Lead development and implementation of identified Commercial Credit strategic, WorkSmart, Digitalization, and Data initiatives.

·         Develop DRM (dealer relationship management) workflow in salesforce to drive more commercial and sales action on key dealer risk and review items.

 

5.    Policy Management

·         Collaborate with Commercial Risk to update all department policies, procedures and flow charts.

·         Create efficiencies with updated P&P to drive more focus on risk management and file review production.

 

6.    Lead, mentor, and develop team members by providing direction, performance expectations and feedback, and support to ensure effective collaboration, professional growth, and achievement of organizational and personal goals.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

·         Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in Credit Underwriting and Commercial business operations.

·         5 years management experience leading teams.

·         Bachelor’s degree in or a related discipline.

·         Master’s degree a plus.

·         Proven record of accomplishment to influence and partner with the business and leaders to successfully drive large-scale organization initiatives.

·         Proven ability to work across levels and functions to build relationships with key stakeholders and champions

·         Demonstrated ability to articulate vision and direction, communicate effectively, manage and measure performance and accountability.

·         Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.

·         Excellent interpersonal, counseling, and negotiation skills.

·         Comfortable navigating changes and ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.

·         Forward thinking with the ability to work well under pressure and organize/articulate complex information.

·         Strong leadership skills to effectively lead, motivate, and develop large, diverse, high-performing teams.
