Job Description

If you’re driven by influence, autonomy, and solving complex municipal water challenges, this is a role where your expertise truly matters. As a Process Mechanical Technical Lead, you’ll serve as a trusted technical authority on high‑impact municipal water and wastewater projects. You’ll guide multidisciplinary teams, mentor engineers, and translate complex challenges into practical, resilient solutions that benefit communities nationwide. Your Impact You’ll lead the process mechanical vision for projects from concept through delivery—setting standards for quality, constructability, and performance while collaborating closely with project managers, clients, and design teams. How You Will Contribute Provide Technical Leadership: Set and maintain technical direction for complex municipal water and wastewater projects, ensuring accuracy, quality, and regulatory compliance. Lead Process Mechanical Design: Develop evaluations and designs for pumping and treatment facilities, including: -Pump selection and hydraulic calculations -Process and mechanical piping layouts -Equipment and tank sizing and specification Drive Innovation: Identify and implement alternative designs and system improvements that enhance efficiency, resilience, and long-term performance. Collaborate Across Disciplines: Partner with BIM and design teams to optimize layouts, resolve constructability challenges, and produce high-quality drawings. Deliver Contract Documents: Prepare technical specifications and front-end contract documents for publicly bid municipal projects. Analyze & Optimize Systems: Support water quality analyses, modeling efforts, and system performance evaluations. Ensure Compliance & Quality: Review designs, reports, and deliverables to meet client expectations, firm standards, and regulatory requirements. Mentor & Develop Talent: Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering growth and collaboration. Advance Technical Knowledge: Author technical papers, contribute to industry publications, and present at conferences and professional forums. Engage Clients & Support Growth: Participate in proposal development, client meetings, and solution development for evolving municipal needs. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent directly related experience). Professional Engineer (PE) license. 10+ years of relevant water and wastewater engineering experience. Willingness to travel domestically and/or internationally as project needs require.
