As a Tool & Die Maker at Ryerson, you will be responsible for assisting in die repairs and building new tools using manual machine lathes and grinders.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the construction of new dies from print to completion.
- Reproduce broken details without assistance
- Troubleshoot all dies without assistance
- Operate all manual machines without assistance
- Owns moderate number of tools needed to perform necessary work
- Ensures that all tools are returned to their proper location, trash is removed, and the floor is free of debris. Tools and equipment kept clean and in good working condition.
- All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice
Requirements
- Successfully pass a skills-based assessment - evaluates your reading, math, inspections & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving
- 3 -5 year of experience tooling and machinery
- TS/ISO Certification is a plus
- Crane and Forklift Certified is a plus
- Ability to read and interpret blue prints
- Mechanically inclined and strong math skills
- Successful candidates will be enrolled in a registered apprenticeship program as part of their onboarding
