Job Overview

Our Masonic Cancer Clinic is one of the nation’s top cancer research centers with a team of specialized doctors, nurses, researchers and health care professionals committed to providing life-saving care to people with cancer. People travel from across the country and around the world for treatments within our hospitals/clinics. Our team is doing high impact work in the prevention, detection, and treatment of our patients. As a member of the care team, the Medical Assistant supports quality patient- and family-centered care principles through performing a variety of high-level functions within a care team to support the needs of the healthcare team and patients/families. The Medical Assistant delivers care as delegated by the physicians/authorized practitioner, or registered nurse (RN) to assigned patient populations or individual patients. Delegates care may include (but is not limited to): medication administration, vaccine administration, injections, phlebotomy (blood draws), assisting with sterile procedures, collecting vital signs. 

 

What you will do as a Medical Assistant:

  • Coordinates and monitors patient appointments for provider visits, and procedure(s)

  • Delivers patient care as delegated by the RN or Provider to assigned patient population, or individual patient

  • Communicates with patients and other members of the healthcare team

  • Provides patient instruction as delegated

  • Demonstrates ability to deliver care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level of population served

 

What you will need:

  • Possess a Medical Assistant Diploma with proof of completion of a 160-hour externship OR Hold AAMA Certification OR AMT Registration.

 

Location: Masonic Cancer Clinic, Clinics and Surgery Center; 909 Fulton St. S. Minneapolis MN

Hours: 1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week. Rotating schedule
