Our Masonic Cancer Clinic is one of the nation’s top cancer research centers with a team of specialized doctors, nurses, researchers and health care professionals committed to providing life-saving care to people with cancer. As a member of the care team, the Medical Assistant supports quality patient- and family-centered care principles through performing a variety of high-level functions within a care team to support the needs of the healthcare team and patients/families. The Medical Assistant delivers care as delegated by the physicians/authorized practitioner, or registered nurse (RN) to assigned patient populations or individual patients. Delegates care may include (but is not limited to): medication administration, vaccine administration, injections, phlebotomy (blood draws), assisting with sterile procedures, collecting vital signs.
What you will do as a Medical Assistant:
Coordinates and monitors patient appointments for provider visits, and procedure(s)
Delivers patient care as delegated by the RN or Provider to assigned patient population, or individual patient
Communicates with patients and other members of the healthcare team
Provides patient instruction as delegated
Demonstrates ability to deliver care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level of population served
What you will need:
Possess a Medical Assistant Diploma with proof of completion of a 160-hour externship OR Hold AAMA Certification OR AMT Registration.
Location: Masonic Cancer Clinic, Clinics and Surgery Center; 909 Fulton St. S. Minneapolis MN
Hours: 1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week. Rotating schedule
