Position Purpose
The Performance Improvement Specialist implements and maintains a compliant, comprehensive, organization-wide, Safety, Quality and Performance Improvement Program.
What you will do
Perform audits and gap analysis in response to patient and family concerns, department specific events or trends, and other authorized parties
Communicate serious adverse events occur and follow through on submission of required documentation
Analyze monthly data, create, and drive performance improvement activities, and help implement change
Assist in training safety curriculum for all staff
Conduct root cause investigations in surgery
Perform chart reviews and audits to support investigations
Minimum Qualifications
CT RN license required
Master’s Degree in Nursing, Healthcare, or related field preferred
At least five (5) years hospital experience preferred
Knowledge of regulatory requirements, patient quality of care and safety initiatives; RCA or Lean Management skills preferred
Leadership experience with regulatory requirements for reporting and subsequent response criteria
