Join Haxtun Health as a Human Resources Operations Specialist and play a key role in supporting the employees who make our mission possible. In this position, you'll help ensure smooth and efficient HR operations through payroll, benefits administration, HR systems management, and employee support while contributing to a positive and compliant workplace culture.
Starting Pay Range: $53,809.60/yr – $69,950.40/yr, depending on experience
- Position Status: Full-time, exempt
- Shift: Day

Job Summary:
The Human Resources Operations Specialist performs professional Human Resources work in support of Haxtun Health’s workforce and operations. This position independently administers assigned HR functions and applies judgment in payroll, benefits, HR systems, and related employment processes.
The HR Operations Specialist serves as a professional resource to leaders and employees on payroll, benefits, HR data, and related employment processes. This role partners with the HR Generalist and the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) to support consistent HR services, compliance, and department operations.
Job Qualifications:
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience required.
- Knowledge of Human Resources practices, employee relations, employment processes, and HR compliance responsibilities.
- Knowledge of payroll administration, benefits administration, HRIS, reporting, and related HR operations.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, customer service, and collaboration skills.
- Strong organizational, analytical, time-management, follow-through, and detail-oriented skills.
- Sound judgment and problem-solving skills, including knowing when to escalate issues.
- Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and employment-related requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, HRIS, payroll systems, reporting tools, and standard business software.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
- Experience in payroll administration, benefits administration, HRIS, reporting, reconciliation, and related HR operations preferred.
- Healthcare or critical access hospital experience preferred.
- SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar Human Resources certification preferred.

- Paid Time Off (PTO): Accrued at approximately 17 days for the first year of employment for hourly employees and 22 days for the first year of employment for salaried employees. PTO accrual increases as your length of service increases. This includes holidays.
- Sick Leave: Up to 48 hours per year.
- Retirement Plan: Up to a 3% employer match, which increases with your length of service. New employees are automatically enrolled at a 1% contribution rate (can be opted out). Employees must complete 5 years of employment to be 100% vested.
- Employee Health Payment Match: Haxtun Health matches employee payments up to $1,000 per year per family for services received at Haxtun Health’s hospital or clinics.
- Family and Medical Leave Insurance Program (FAMLI): Haxtun Health participates in the CO FAMLI program, which is a social insurance program that provides up to 12 weeks of paid leave for qualifying life events.
- Term Life Insurance: 1 x annual salary term life provided by HHD, no employee premium ($200,000 Max.). Additional voluntary life insurance coverage for the employee and family is an option which can be purchased by the employee.
