Senior Legal Counsel, Development
Job Description
We’re looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to join our legal team supporting Lendlease’s Development business, where you will play a critical role in delivering complex, high-profile real estate and development transactions across Australia and Asia.
About the Role
As a trusted legal advisor, you will partner closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to support major development projects, joint ventures, and strategic investments. Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, Development, this is a highly visible role where your commercial insight and legal expertise will directly influence business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide strategic legal advice on development transactions across Australia, Singapore, and Japan.
Structure and negotiate agreements for joint ventures, acquisitions, financings, and major projects.
Support merger clearance and regulatory matters (including ACCC processes).
Partner with teams across finance, tax, M&A, and strategy to deliver commercially sound outcomes.
Manage external counsel and ensure efficient delivery of legal services.
Drive solutions that are commercial, pragmatic, and aligned to business strategy.
About You
A law degree and practising certificate.
Experience in real estate development, projects, or corporate transactions.
Proven ability to lead negotiations and close complex deals.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Strong experience in a top-tier law firm or in-house environment.
A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong commercial acumen.
A commercially minded legal professional who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
