Job Description

We’re looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to join our legal team supporting Lendlease’s Development business, where you will play a critical role in delivering complex, high-profile real estate and development transactions across Australia and Asia.

About the Role

As a trusted legal advisor, you will partner closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to support major development projects, joint ventures, and strategic investments. Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, Development, this is a highly visible role where your commercial insight and legal expertise will directly influence business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic legal advice on development transactions across Australia, Singapore, and Japan.

  • Structure and negotiate agreements for joint ventures, acquisitions, financings, and major projects.

  • Support merger clearance and regulatory matters (including ACCC processes).

  • Partner with teams across finance, tax, M&A, and strategy to deliver commercially sound outcomes.

  • Manage external counsel and ensure efficient delivery of legal services.

  • Drive solutions that are commercial, pragmatic, and aligned to business strategy.

About You

  • A law degree and practising certificate.

  • Experience in real estate development, projects, or corporate transactions.

  • Proven ability to lead negotiations and close complex deals.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

  • Strong experience in a top-tier law firm or in-house environment.

  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong commercial acumen.

  • A commercially minded legal professional who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
