Manager (2H) - FP&A Electric Operations

Job Description

The Manager will partner with operating areas within Electric Operations to develop organizational plans and budgets for both O&M and capital. In addition, this position will lead, coordinate, and vet key aspects of the budget development process. The Manager must also lead and develop his/her team while assisting and guiding his/her team through the development of value-added analysis. In addition, the Manager will be directly responsible for consolidating the Electric Distribution capital budget for both reporting and analysis. The manager will also have direct responsibility for FP&A functions supporting the Engineering and Planning organization within Electric Operations.

Core Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the Engineering & Planning and Electric Operations Consolidation FP&A Analysts.
  • Lead and coordinate the budget development process, partnering with operating areas to develop O&M and capital plans and support work plan justification.
  • Guide and support the analyst in creating detailed budget plans and preparing clear, professional financial presentations for senior management, ensuring all key information is communicated confidently and effectively.
  • Review, vet, and challenge financial forecasts, assumptions, and work plan requirements.
  • Identify, analyze, and communicate variances vs. plan, including development of corrective action plans.
  • Provide monthly performance reporting and ongoing financial updates to stakeholders and customers.
  • Participate in key customer meetings to challenge forecasts and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Support and facilitate capital governance and optimization processes, including preparation of governance materials and use of PI360.
  • Lead spend driver tracking and financial oversight, including accrual analysis and monitoring of financial activity.
  • Deliver value-added financial analysis and insights to support operational decision-making.
  • Support rate case filings, regulatory reporting, and training on financial processes, systems, and financial acumen.
Required Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree and 3 years experience
Preferred Education/Experience
  • Master's Degree and 2 years experience
Relevant Work Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of FP&A-related experience, required.
  • Demonstrated strong quantitative and presentation experience, required.
  • Understanding and familiarity with ConEds business (e.g., services provided, current events) and FP&A function (e.g., objective, role, deliverables), required.
  • Proficient use of MS Office and budgeting tools (e.g., Oracle, SAP), required.
  • Understanding of accounting principles (e.g., income statement, balance sheet), required.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking capabilities and proactive qualities, required.
  • Strong verbal and written skills, including presentation skills, required.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence decision making, required.
  • Engineering and operations experience, preferred.
  • Supervisory experience, preferred.
  • Familiarity with data visualization and manipulation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx), preferred.
  • Familiarity with work management systems (e.g., WMS, Maximo), preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Driver's License Required
Physical Demands
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 40 pounds
  • Sit or stand to answer a phone for the duration of the workday
  • Stand to use/operate office equipment for the duration of the workday
  • Ability to read small print and symbols
  • Work rotating shifts, including nights, midnights, weekends and holidays
Additional Physical Demands
  • The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as needed.
