Ali & Sons Marine Engineering Factory (ASMEF), a subsidiary of Ali & Sons Holding LLC, is a leading provider of engineering, fabrication, and ship repair services for the oil & gas and marine sectors. We are seeking an experienced and quality-focused Welding Supervisor to oversee welding activities and ensure all works are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
· Supervise and coordinate all welding activities in accordance with approved procedures, drawings, and project specifications.
· Ensure welders follow approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and applicable welding standards.
· Monitor welding productivity, workmanship quality, and compliance with project schedules.
· Coordinate with QA/QC Inspectors for inspections, testing, and closure of welding-related non-conformities.
· Verify welding consumables, materials, and equipment are properly maintained and suitable for use.
· Review welding drawings, work packs, and technical documents prior to execution.
· Ensure proper allocation of manpower, materials, and resources to achieve production targets.
· Conduct toolbox talks and ensure strict compliance with HSE requirements and safe welding practices.
· Identify welding issues and provide technical guidance and corrective actions to the workforce.
· Coordinate with fabrication, engineering, and project teams to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of activities.
· Maintain welding records, progress reports, and documentation as required.
· Support continuous improvement initiatives related to welding quality, productivity, and safety.
· Perform additional duties as assigned by the Fabrication Manager or Project Manager.
Qualifications & Experience
· Education: Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
· Experience: Minimum 5–10 years of experience in welding supervision within marine, fabrication, oil & gas, or EPC projects.
· Strong knowledge of welding processes, procedures, and international standards such as ASME, AWS, and API.
· Experience in supervising structural, piping, and fabrication welding activities.
· Ability to read and interpret welding drawings, WPS, and technical specifications.
· Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
· Familiarity with welding inspections and quality control requirements.
· Proficient in MS Office and reporting documentation.
· Fluency in English (mandatory).
