Overall Purpose:
The Financial Accountant will have responsibility for the high quality and timely delivery of Group and local statutory and regulatory reporting. Working closely with the Head of Finance the successful candidate will play a fundamental role in the delivery of the quarterly financial and regulatory reporting processes and will be responsible for coordinating the process in line with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) requirements.
The role will require interaction and collaboration with individuals across the wider Finance team and across departments, as well as with Senior Leadership.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the co-ordination of the quarterly financial statements and internal management review process
- Responsible for the co-ordination of the quarterly regulatory returns
- Manage and contribute to the production of the Company’s annual statutory financial statements on an IFRS basis
- Responsible for co-ordination of liquidity & cash management, including banking administration
- Assist with the preparation of the Company’s tax returns
- Evaluate and improve processes and procedures within the scope of the role as required
- Involvement in efficiency initiatives to improve the workflow within the department and the Company
- Any other ad-hoc responsibilities and administration requirements in line with priorities and needs of the Finance function
Experience:
- Qualified Accountant
- Experience working in a professional services firm or within a similar regulatory/ financial reporting environment
- Insurance industry experience is preferable but not essential
- Experience in SAP reporting tools is an advantage
