This position requires a proactive and collaborative approach to drive successful transactions, resolve customer inquiries, and maintain a positive shopping experience. With retail experience, you will lead by example, guide the team, and contribute to the continual improvement of our retail operations.   ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES: Customer Engagement and Assistance: Lead and actively engage professional chefs, restaurant owners, and cooking enthusiasts with their purchases at the counter. Proactively communicate and collaborate with vendors and customers to facilitate special orders. Take a leadership role in resolving complex customer complaints promptly and effectively. Contribute to the continuous improvement of sales and customer service processes. Transaction Handling and Reporting: Handle transactions, ensuring accuracy in prices and quantities.  Assist in balancing the cash register and generating reports for credit and debit sales. Clean Workspace and Organization: Maintain a clean and organized workspace to enhance the shopping environment. Oversee the organization of merchandise displays and promotional materials. Actively engage with customers, build relationships, and occasionally visit them to strengthen connections. Skills and Attributes: Strong analytical skills with attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Energetic personality with a customer-focused approach. Foodservice industry experience is a plus.   COMPETENCIES: Proven ability to lead a customer-focused team and drive exceptional customer service. Demonstrate a customer-centric mindset in all interactions and transactions. Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with vendors, customers, and team members successfully.   QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: 1-2 years of experience in retail customer service and business-to-business sales. Previous cashier and customer service experience is required. Ability to read, write, and speak English sufficiently; knowledge of other languages is a plus. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is strongly preferred. Ability to successfully pass a background check post offer acceptance.
