Manager, Enterprise Professional Coding and Provider Education
Job Description
Key responsibilities include managing daily operations of the PB education team, setting performance standards, leading coding and documentation audits, and implementing corrective action plans. The manager drives provider and coder education initiatives, supports audit readiness, and serves as a subject matter expert for complex coding inquiries. This role also contributes to strategic planning, workforce development, and systemwide efforts to improve coding quality, reduce denials, and strengthen compliant documentation practices.
Represents people leaders (hire/fire authority) with majority of time spent overseeing their area of responsibility. Achieve goals through direct and/or indirect reports.
Manages/Supervises professional level employees within a Job Area. Focuses on tactical and operational plans and strategy with short to mid-term focus. Develops solutions to moderately complex problems, and may escalate more complex issues to higher level management. Ensures that staff is utilized efficiently and daily work projects are completed on time and within budget.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor's degree required, Preferred fields of study include Health Information Management, Allied Healthcare, Public Health or Business Management.
Experience: 7+ years of previous coding experience, to include 2+ years of formal management experience required. Experience working in EPIC software preferred.
Licensure: Credentialing by AHIMA or AAPC. ICD-10 Approved Trainer preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
The starting base rate for this role is $76,420.00 annually. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.Benefits
