JOB TITLE: Appraisal Clerk/Sp Ed

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Under the direct supervision of the campus-based evaluation staff and the speech
language pathologist, the clerk will provide reception and clerical assistance for the
efficient operation of the campus special education department
QUALIFICATIONS:
Certification/Education:
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
Special Knowledge/ Skills:
Proficiency in typing and word processing
Working knowledge of basic office procedures
Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) and in a positive manner
Ability to follow written and oral instructions
Effective organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to use personal computer and software for spreadsheets, databases, word processing and electronically invite/schedule meetings
Bilingual preferred
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
1. Assist campus-based evaluation staff which includes the speech pathologist in
office management duties.
2. Assist in maintaining an efficient and positive work environment
3. Assist campus-based evaluation staff which includes the speech pathologist in
maintaining federal, state and local regulations and timelines by monitoring
reports generated from district software system
4. ARD Meeting responsibilities:
Maintain monthly calendar for upcoming ARDs and staff meetings
Schedule ARD meetings for campus-based evaluation staff which includes
the speech pathologist
Assist in preparing materials for all ARD meetings
Work collaboratively with campus-based evaluation staff which includes
the speech pathologist to ensure the required/necessary participants are
invited to ARD meetings
Scan, upload and mail ARD documents to teachers and parents

5. Maintain records, files, and other required documents on special education
students
6. File and maintain documents in the audit folder and special education software
system immediately after the ARD is completed and activated
7. Assist speech pathologist in preparing instructional materials as needed
8. Communicate to district office any requests for records
9. Interpret ARDs and phone calls, as necessary
10. Maintain confidentiality
11. Perform other duties as determined by the campus-based evaluation staff, speech
pathologist or principal.
