
Platform Engineering Student/Co-op- Fall 2026
Job Description
Partner with cross-functional engineering teams to assist in progressing key RCD program initiatives. This role offers hands-on experience working with supply chain and design/build teams, helping you understand how large-scale engineering projects are coordinated from start to finish.
As an added perk, Irving Shipbuilding will cover co‑op fees up to $1,000.
- Prepare presentations relevant to department priorities.
- Synthesize data relevant to department priorities.
- Communicate and coordinate actions relevant to department priorities.
- Support Project Engineering VFI Tracking as required.
- Support updates to the Master ProcPack Template.
- Support Requirements and Classification team scope as required.
- Currently enrolled in a 4-year Engineering degree program.
- 0-2 years’ experience.
- Experience with 3D model viewers consider an asset.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, openness to learning.
- Skilled in organizing and managing a variety of tasks with varying priorities and is a fast learner and effective problem solver.
- Interest in shipbuilding, defense, or marine industry and a desire to join an exciting, fast-paced organization.
Due to the nature of work Irving Shipbuilding does, all successful applicants must meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Please note this position requires a full-time, in-office presence.
