Job Description:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Process Optimization: Analyze existing business and production processes using value stream mapping, time studies, and workflow analysis to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
Continuous Improvement: Lead Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives to eliminate waste, improve cycle times, and foster a culture of ongoing operational excellence.
Facility & Layout Design: Design optimal plant, office, or warehouse layouts using CAD software to maximize space utilization, improve material flow, and enhance worker safety.
Capacity & Resource Planning: Develop production schedules, labor utilization models, and capacity planning tools to align operational throughput with fluctuating market demands.
Data Analysis & Metrics: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs). Collect and analyze operational data using statistical methods to drive data-backed decision-making.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Production, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, and Executive Leadership to seamlessly integrate new technologies and processes.
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Establish, document, and maintain standard work instructions to ensure consistency, quality control, and safety compliance.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Research, or a closely related engineering field.
2–5+ years of experience in an industrial engineering, manufacturing, or distribution environment.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
Strong command of statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, Excel, SPSS).
Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production simulation software.
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is highly preferred;
Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) or Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
Skills and Abilities:
Exceptional problem-solving abilities, strong project management skills, and the communication acumen needed to present complex data clearly to diverse stakeholders.
