Nurse Anesthetist CRNA
Job Description
*Sign-on bonus of up to $50,000 and relocation included*
This position in collaboration with a physician develops an anesthesia care plan. Provides IV sedation and/or monitored anesthesia care and/or administers general, regional or local anesthesia for a variety of surgical, obstetrical, diagnostic or therapeutic procedures. Monitors patients accurately and performs Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), ventilation or life support measures during emergencies throughout the Medical Center. Managers the patients� physiological condition while under anesthesia and initiates corrective actions as necessary or as directed by a physician. Assists with other departmental or professional duties as requested by the Manager of Anesthesiology.
Responsibilities
(25%)* Perform pre-anesthetic evaluation and preparation.

(25%)* Prepares the OR Suite for all types of anesthesia.
�
(25%)* Administers, manages, and monitors anesthesia care during induction, maintenance, and emergence.
�
(25%)* Provide post-anesthesia care and evaluation.
�
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Takes appropriate safety precautions to insure the safe administration of his/her anesthesia care.
�
Identifies opportunities for improving quality, including patient outcomes and operational efficiency within the Department.
�
Provide clinical support to other departments within the Medical Center.
�
Other duties as assigned.

Written, organization, and interpersonal skills needed to communicate successfully with individuals and groups to interact with people at all levels to communicate ideas and concepts in a clear and understandable manner.

Demonstrates the ability to perform basic and advanced skills required practicing anesthesia.
�
These may include but are not limited to: Adult and pediatric venipuncture, Arterial line insertion, Medication calculation and effects Sterile technique, Airway maintenance,Administration and management of regional anesthetics.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Exposure to stressful situations, including those involving public contact, as well as, trauma, grief and death.

Able to wear personal protective equipment that includes latex materials or appropriate substitute if required for your position.
�
Is able to move freely about facility with or without an assisted device and must be able to perform the functions of the job as outlined in the job description.
�
Overall vision and hearing is necessary with or without assisted device(s).
�
Frequently required to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time. May require frequent postural changes such as stooping, kneeling or crouching.
�
Some exposure to blood borne pathogens and other potentially infectious material.� Must follow MyMichigan Health bloodborne pathogen and TB testing as required.
�
Ability to handle multiple tasks, get along with others, work independently, regular and predictable attendance and ability to stay awake.
�
Overall dexterity is required including handling, reaching, grasping, fingering and feeling.� May require repetition of these movements on a regular to frequent basis.

Physical Demand Level: Light.� Must be able to occasionally (0-33% of the workday) lift or carry 11-20 lbs., frequently (34-66% of the workday) 10 lbs. and or Walk/Stand/Push/Pull of Arm/Leg controls.
