Purpose of the role

The Payments Operations team is responsible for all Domestic and Cross-Border payment processing for MUFG Oceania branch. The Analyst is to perform the day to day operations of the Payment Services Operations team  and provide assistance to internal and external stakeholders

What you'll do:

• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, relationship managers, and internal departments by liaising with stakeholders and other financial institutions to ensure seamless processing of customer payment requests

• Provide consistent support across all payment functions while maintaining excellent service levels for both internal and external customers.

• Profile payment instructions accurately for processing centres, ensuring compliance with established procedures and regulations.

• Respond promptly to enquiries and escalations raised by the Processing team, and escalating to AVP/VP when necessary

• Process internal book transfers efficiently, including booking FX contracts as required

• Assist with end-of-day processes and reconciliation tasks, ensuring all records are accurate and up-to-date.

• Follow up on urgent requests diligently to guarantee timely completion of all payments without compromising quality or accuracy.

• Handle Swift payments and messaging when necessary, adhering strictly to operational guidelines and best practices.

• Deliver exceptional service by actioning all functions in a timely and precise manner, responding thoughtfully to customer enquiries and performing client confirmations or follow-ups.

What you bring:

• At least one year of relevant experience in payments operations or banking settlements or customer service roles within financial services environments.

• Your background may include qualifications in Finance or Commerce; fresh graduates eager to learn are also encouraged to apply.

• Your strong attention to detail ensures every transaction is processed accurately while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.

• You possess effective time management skills and strong attention to detail, that enable you to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while escalating issues appropriately when necessary.
