Work Experience:
In accordance with Minnesota Rules 245G.11 subdivision 1; all employees must be free of chemical use problems for at least two years immediately preceding their hiring and must sign a statement attesting to that fact. Chemical use problems are defined as: receiving treatment for substance use within the period specified for the position in the staff qualification requirements, including medication-assisted treatment; substance use or mental health disorders that have negatively impacted the staff member’s job performance; substance use or mental health disorders that affect the credibility of treatment services with clients, referral sources, or other members of the community; and symptoms of intoxication or withdrawal on the job.

Responsible for performing chemical dependency evaluations, participating in contributing to interdisciplinary treatment and discharge plans and providing individual and group chemical dependency counseling services. The chemical dependency counselor works with clients age 18 through geriatric. The counselor will have skills to carry out the core functions identified by Minnesota Statutes Chapter 148C regarding alcohol and drug counselor licensure (see addendum).Work Experience:

Education Qualifications:
Documentation of completion of a two-year chemical dependency treatment training program; or graduate with degree in counseling with emphasis in alcohol and drug counseling preferred.Licensure/Certification Qualifications:
Possesses Minnesota Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) credential or Alcohol and Drug Counselor-Trainee (ADC-T)
