GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: The Patient Account Representative is responsible for assisting with all functions related to outstanding account balances from third-party payers. This role requires a professional, proactive communicator who can manage collection activities, identify trends, and resolve issues efficiently. The representative evaluates patient financial status, establishes payment plans when appropriate, and ensures timely follow-up on delinquent accounts. Keeping abreast of third-party payer regulations and requirements is essential, along with maintaining accurate and accessible documentation.
