Job Description

Job Purpose

The Senior Analyst will support the Corporate Banking team in managing and growing a portfolio of UK-based corporates and institutional clients. The role focuses on credit analysis, portfolio management, client servicing, and supporting senior relationship managers in origination and execution of lending, trade, and treasury solutions. The position serves as a bridge between analytical work and early-stage relationship management, with a strong pathway toward becoming a full-fledged Relationship Manager.

Key Responsibilities

1. Client Relationship Support

  • Assist Relationship Managers in managing and expanding a portfolio of corporate clients across the UK market.

  • Prepare client briefing notes, pitch materials, and product proposals in coordination with internal stakeholders.

  • Support client onboarding, KYC/AML reviews, and periodic compliance updates.

  • Attend select client meetings and contribute to relationship development initiatives.

2. Credit & Financial Analysis

  • Conduct detailed financial statement analysis, cashflow modelling, and credit risk assessments of corporate clients.

  • Prepare high-quality credit applications, reviews, and risk memos for approval by relevant credit committees.

  • Monitor portfolio performance, covenant compliance, early warning indicators, and emerging risks.

  • Liaise with risk, credit administration, and product teams to ensure timely deal execution.

3. Portfolio & Deal Management

  • Support origination and structuring of bilateral and syndicated loan transactions, trade finance, working capital facilities, and treasury solutions.

  • Assist in drafting term sheets, mandate letters, and documentation coordination with legal teams.

  • Ensure full adherence to bank policies, regulatory requirements (including PRA/FCA rules), and internal governance standards.

    4. Market & Sector Research

  • Prepare sector insights to support business development strategy.

  • Track economic developments, regulatory changes, and industry trends relevant to client portfolios.

  • 5. Operational Excellence

  • Maintain accurate and updated client data, pipeline reports, and revenue tracking tools.

  • Ensure timely resolution of client queries in collaboration with operations, compliance, and support teams.

  • Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives within the Corporate Banking team.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; professional qualifications (CFA, ACA, FRM) are an advantage.

  • 3–5 years' experience in corporate banking, credit analysis, or investment banking—preferably within the UK market.

  • Strong financial analysis, modelling, and credit writing skills.

  • Knowledge of corporate banking products.

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and client-facing skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, relationship-driven environment.
